Just like a standard Acupuncture appointment, we evaluation all aspects of your health in detail with our indepth intake form. We include body acupuncture points (a constitutional treatment) to address your underlying condition. This might be stress, digestive or sleep issues, menopausal symptoms, fatigue etc. We aim to nourish qi, blood and body fluids levels in the body, direct it to your face, whilst harmonising your internal organ functions.

Think of the your health like a tree. The branches are your symptoms which could be acne. The root of the tree could be period irregularities, improper diet or stress. We will not begin to see significant change in your face until we get to the root cause and the constitutional body points address that.

After the consultation, you will be lying on the treatment table and we will insert very fine needles into acupuncture points in the body to balance your internal health and direct qi and blood circulation towards the face.

Tiny needles are inserted in to specific acupuncture points on the face and any areas of specific concern. Eg frown lines, forehead lines.

This microtrauma creates our bodies natural response to heal and activates collagen and elastin production to plump out and soften lines over accumulative sessions.

It also reduces inflammation, increases the blood circulation, hydration (and qi) to the face, revitalising the skin to bring out your natural glow, whilst balancing the functionality of our internal organs.

Next we add LED Light Therapy to supercharge your skin rejuvenation.

Cosmetic Acupuncture aims to treat your overall health, whether your other symptoms are in relation to stress, digestive or sleep issues, menstruation irregularities etc. We address individual health conditions or concerns.

Acupuncture, by nature, aims to slow down your nervous system and therefore many observe that it is incredibly relaxing. We always address the root cause in relation to your overall health.

Glow also sells high quality Gua Sha's & Dermal Rollers for at home use, in between Cosmetic Acupuncture treatments, to maintain the health of your skin and keep you glowing for longer!

Just like your body you cannot expect your face to look toned and fit after just one session. A series of treatments is recommended with Cosmetic Acupuncture due to it having an accumulative effect.

After the first consultation your skin should appear brighter and more toned, however it will not "hold" unless you continue with a series of treatments. The more treatments you have and balancing of health, the more likely it is for your treatment to 'hold' for longer lasting effects.

For both Cosmetic Acupuncture & LED we recommend a series of weekly sessions and then re-assessing individual patients needs. Each person is different according to age, skin condition, diet and lifestyle and medical history, however as a guide:

• Age 20s-30s: 4-6 weekly sessions

• Age 40s-50s: 6-8 weekly sessions

• Age 60 plus: 9-12 weekly sessions

Ongoing treatment: To maintain your healthy glow we recommend having a series of weekly sessions every year plus maintenance appointments, as required, for any special events.

Cosmetic Acupuncture is not recommended in:

- Pregnancy

- Patients with unmanaged hypertension

- Severe migraine sufferers

- Patients with a history of cancer

LED is not recommended in:

- Epilepsy or a history of seizures

- Patients with a history of cancer

- Patients on steroidal medications

- Patients who are photosensitive

Botox & Filler:

- We can work around botox in every session but will not treat the skin in direct areas of botox until at least 3 weeks after injections.

- We will not work on areas of filler at all but can work on other areas of the face. Please confirm with your filler physician to confirm how long filler takes to set. We do not recommend having any facial acupuncture until this occurs.

Any lines, discolourations, dark circles, puffiness or skin condition are all signs that there are underlying disharmonies in your physical or emotional health.
